There’s no such thing as fashionable “fatty jeans”, maybe because even the name sounds unattractive. So for those of us of a more plump persuasion who want to be in vogue, that leaves us with the skinny version.
I’m Elizabeth Dodwell, host of MixnSip.com and part of the team that owns and operates Mix ‘n Sip, LLC and I don’t know about you, but I’m not too comfortable with the idea of oozing my excess blubber into slim legwear. I’m also not willing to stop drinking the occasional cocktail in order to diet down to my inner slim. I like Pina Colada; I’m happy in Margaritaville; I get excited when It’s Martini Time. What’s a chubby middle-aged (OK, a little past middle-aged) alcohol afficionado to do? Why, write a book of low calorie cocktails, of course.
Adapting old favorites and creating new, I put together a selection of low calorie mixed drinks; none more than 150 calories. Some, in fact, a lot less.
Common sense will tell you, of course, that if you want to lose weight it’s not enough to just drink a lower calorie cocktail. But if, like me, you want to have a little tipple as part of a sensible low calorie diet, then the Skinny Jeans Cocktails book is for you.
My goal is to lose 30 lbs. That’s not as much as I need to lose but it’s more attainable than saying 60. And once I reach my goal I’ll start working on another 10…. then another 10…. and I’ll be looking and feeling fabulous in skinny jeans.
